Orli,
I see you’re a hypnotist.
I have terrible claustrophobia. Last week I got stuck in a tiny room with no windows during which time I didn’t know if I’d die of a heart attack or faint! (I suspect it’s a past life thing…) And all that time I had to pretend I was calm. I was awful!
Any ideas? Can hypnotismI help it?
Answer: Excellent question! Claustrophobia( the fear of enclosed spaces) is an extremely common fear and hypnosis can absolutely help you overcome it! In fact, recently, I was baruch Hashem able to help a young bride with severe arachnophobia (fear of spiders) within just one session! Fear builds on itself -just like a tiny seed planted in the ground that, over time, sprouts and becomes a mighty tree, so too does fear tend to grow and morph into other areas of our lives. The secret to hypnosis is that it allows you, through deep relaxation, to access your subconscious mind, which stores all of your collective memories. Once your subconscious mind has located the source of the specific fear, known as the ‘initial sensitizing event’-(in the case of the newlywed, she was bitten by a spider when she was just six years old), it can then analyze and release the negative energy. Once this happens, all of the years of fear that had been built on top of it simply dissolve-just as if you were to go back in time and pluck that proverbial seed out before it had a chance to sprout. That is one reason why hypnosis is so much more effective than traditional methods of therapy. Instead of hacking at the ‘tree’ of fear, layer by layer, which is very time consuming and draining, hypnosis allows you to get at the root of the problem, quickly, and simply release it.
